2021 is very close to becoming 2022 – something none of us are prepared for… This year (and the last) passed by like a blur. I barely remember it! (I have retrograde amnesia)
Well, to end it on a high note, we decided to share our top 6 Anime shows that are a must-watch… they’re still relevant in 2021 and watchable on Netflix (most of them). Let’s go!
6. Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness
Although it has mixed reviews, the animation style slaps in this Japanese American horror show based on the critically acclaimed game series. It is a fun-fest for all Resident Evil fans and stars protagonists Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. The show is set between the events of Resident Evil 4 and 5.
5. Castlevania Season 4
A glorious end to an epic – Castlevania should definitely be on your list to binge. Based on the hit videogame series of the same name, this final season takes off after the Battle of Lindenfeld. If you like vampires, this is the show for you (Robert Pattinson will smile upon you).
4. BEASTARS
We promise this ain’t some weird furry s#!t. But yes, the animals in this show are anthropomorphic (i.e. they behave like humans). This show is actually based on a manga that deals with cultural differences between herbivores and carnivores. Animation is gorgeous, and the characters too cute to not fall in love with.
3. Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Season 5
It’s not a top 10 (or rather 6, in this case) list if it doesn’t include Jojo. Without spoiling too much, the fifth season covering the “Stone Ocean” part deals with Jotaro and his estranged daughter Jolyne. If you don’t know what this show is about, then you SHOULD try it out. It follows the life of the Joestar bloodline, against the forces of evil, beginning with Jonathan Joestar in 1880.
2. Keep Your Hands off Eizouken!
Time for something light-hearted. This is a hilarious Anime based on a high-schooler and her friends as they try to create and establish an Anime club of their own in their school campus – and then also try and produce an Anime film. Sounds a bit meta, doesn’t it?! We highly recommend it.
1. Attack on Titan Season 4
Alright, time for the G.O.A.T. We absolutely do not want to spoil anything for you (Vietnam flashbacks to the accidental email spoiler) and therefore we will just tell you how great AOT is and why you should add it to your list – the animation, voice acting, background score, and its pure, seething, rage-filled action. You’re missing out if haven’t seen it already. Season 4 was released literally a couple of weeks ago, so the hype is still on. What are you still doing here? Go check it out!
On the off chance that you’re still here, have a WONDERFUL Christmas, and happy holidays from all of us at Iced Tea! See you next year!
